The St. Charles Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will bring all of the county's emergency communications functions together, including the Department of Emergency Communications (police, fire, and EMS dispatch) as well as the Division of Emergency Management. ​The center is planned to complete construction in August of 2018. Construction has wrapped up on The Rise, a 10-story apartment highrise on 9th Street in the heart of Columbia, Missouri. The 174-unit building with a 2-story parking garage and entire level of retail space received occupancy in July.

St. Louis-based Allegro Senior Living recently celebrated their groundbreaking on a new luxury senior housing community in Richmond Heights. Located across from SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, the 87-unit, 91,000 sqft community will include luxury dining, stadium theater, fitness center, salon, spa, and therapy services, and memory care. SSC Engineering was happy to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural engineering design for the building. The St. Louis County Court Addition project in Clayton recently received LEED accreditation. SSC Engineering was happy to be a part of the design-build team for the three-story addition to an existing high-rise structure. The courthouse addition includes new courtrooms, detention centers, offices, record keeping, and additional parking. Read more about the $120 million project at NextSTL here.

Congratulations to Federated Rural Electric Exchange whose new ground-up facility in Shawnee, Kansas will be operational mid-June 2017. SSC Engineering provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Structural Engineering services for the new facility designed by M+H Architects. 

After eleven years at their existing church on McCausland, The Gathering Church has broken ground on their new building. On Sunday, June 4th, church leaders broke ground on the all-new $6 million project at 2360 McCausland. The new church will provide a large modern sanctuary, classrooms and greater worship space. SSC was happy to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services alongside Vessel Architecture & Design for the new facility. Congratulations to North Jefferson County Ambulance District on opening House #2! The new ambulance building is intended to reduce response times and support the growing community needs.  The building is approximately 5700 square feet, and is equipped with various green features including LED lighting and energy saving controls, low flow plumbing fixtures, radiant heat in the apparatus bay, waste recycling, site layout that provides infiltration and treatment of storm-water runoff and staging of exhaust to run only as needed. SSC Engineering provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural Engineering Services for the project.

Congratulations to Trivers Associates for the design of the Flance Early Learning Center in St. Louis, which recently was awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and the American Institute of Architects for a 2017 AIA/HUD Secretary's Award in Community-Informed Design. The Flance Center is seeking "systemic change" by serving "a racially, culturally, developmentally, and socio-economically diverse population of children" while also providing services to families. The center is located near both the new NGA West and former Pruitt-Igoe site in north St. Louis.

SSC Engineering is happy to be partnered with Brinkmann Constructors as the winning design-build team for the new St. Charles Emergency Operations Center in St. Charles County. The 30,000 square foot, nearly $20 million building in O'Fallon will be built on 10 acres and be operational in late 2018. It will feature operations of the police department, emergency management, data center and countywide emergency radio communications, and added police evidence storage. SSC Engineering will be providing plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural design services for the project. Read more about it in Mid Rivers Newsmagazine.

Saks Fifth Avenue, a major tenant within the popular and expansive Brickell City Centre in Miami, Florida, has opened. The team at SSC Engineering was happy to provide design services for this high end project. Blanton Construction expands upon the project here: Linkedin.

We're honored to be a part of the design team for St. Francois County 911 Center, which was recently given approval to proceed on the $2.2 to $2.3 million project. Ron Bockenkamp, 911 Board Chairman at last Wednesday's Board of Director's Meeting had kind words about the design team; "Over the years I've had to deal with a lot of consulting firms, but I could not be more impressed with the work product that your company has provided this board." SSC was happy to provide structural engineering services for Operation Food Search, a hunger relief organization in it's move to a new headquarters in Overland. The new heaquarters is over twice as large as the previous facility and is now open on Olive Boulevard in University City. The building conversion featured the renovation of an former window factory with a budget of roughly $2.5 million. Read more about it in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
