SSC Engineering was founded in 1991 by Mike Swim to better serve architects and contractors with friendly, personal service. With early success, Chris Cornett and Bill Schuchat joined the team in 1994 and 1997, respectively, and began what has now become SSC Engineering, a multi-discipline engineering design firm with expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Structural Engineering.

Cost Considerate
In 2007, SSC designed an 8-story, LEED Gold Certified hospital patient tower; The actual construction cost was nearly 20% below the project budget of $100M; Change orders were very limited amounting to only about 1% of the project, which included additional scope. 
Cost control is a very important part of the design effort and SSC takes pride in engineering quality designs while balancing the need to maintain the project budget. Our estimating procedure enables us to present the client with an expected probable construction cost. Our focus in every project is to remain within the project budget and provide the owner with the facility they desire.

Schedule Focused
Nearly all of today's projects have one critical factor in common: a short schedule; SSC has developed a design and engineering process focused on efficiency and accuracy allowing us to meet or exceed all deadlines while maintaining excellent quality. SSC works closely with all trades to ensure projects are completed as promised.

Collaborative
The mindset and decisions behind every design are developed to suit the individual project needs. Whether we are engineering a state-of-the-art operating room or a simple warehouse, SSC focuses on designing to the customers' wants and needs.

Coordination Minded
The backbone of a smooth project is the proper coordination during design, and the cooperation of engineers and contractors. SSC focuses on ironing out problems before they arise. We have led the engineering and construction industry in adopting the latest software for trade coordination, starting work in Revit in 2007.
Using the latest software allows for optimal coordination between all engineering and architectural trades to ensure projects remain on schedule, on budget and meet all of the owner's expectations. SSC has led the engineering and construction industry in 3D modeling and computerization and has individual experts dedicated to these tasks.
